Clogs Keep Coming Back?
When a drain keeps slowing down after it has been cleared, buildup inside the line may be part of the problem. Hydro-jetting uses pressurized water to clean the pipe and help restore flow.
We provide hydro jetting in Des Moines, Dallas Center and surrounding Central Iowa communities. We assess the blockage and pipe condition before recommending the right cleaning method.
Who provides hydro jetting in Des Moines?
Zippy Drain provides hydro jetting in Des Moines and surrounding Central Iowa communities. We use pressurized water to clean buildup from suitable residential and commercial drain lines. Call (515) 471-3333 to describe the problem and ask whether hydro-jetting is the right option for your pipes.
Hydro-Jetting Services
Hydro-jetting sends water through a specialized hose and nozzle inside the drain line to break up and flush away buildup. We work with a range of residential and commercial drains; the photos below show a few examples. Access, pipe condition and the type of blockage determine whether jetting is appropriate.

Residential Sewer Lines
Buildup in a shared drain or sewer line can affect several fixtures at once. When the pipe is suitable, hydro-jetting can clean the line through an accessible cleanout.

Commercial Drains
Grease, oil and organic debris can restrict commercial drain lines. We assess the affected drains and discuss whether jetting can help address the buildup.

Outdoor Drain Lines
Dirt and organic debris can restrict an outdoor drainage line. Available access and the condition of the pipe help determine the right approach to cleaning it.
Hydro-jetting is a cleaning service, not a pipe repair. A collapsed, broken or severely deteriorated line may need a different solution. We assess the problem before recommending high-pressure cleaning.
When It Helps
Hydro-jetting may be worth considering when buildup is restricting a drain line. Tell us if you are dealing with:
- Clogs that return after the line has been opened
- Grease or organic buildup inside a drain line
- Several slow drains connected to the same line
- Drain restrictions affecting business operations
- A recurring problem that needs further assessment
These symptoms do not automatically mean a line needs jetting. A camera inspection may help identify the cause and guide the next step.
Our Process
We start by understanding the restriction and checking whether the line is a good candidate for hydro-jetting. The goal is to clean the pipe using a method suited to its condition.
01
Assess the Line
Tell us where the backup happens, how often it returns and what work has already been done. We assess the available access and whether a camera inspection would help.
02
Choose the Method
If jetting is appropriate, we discuss the recommended service. Ask about pricing, access and what the work involves before cleaning begins.
03
Clean the Line
A jetter hose and nozzle direct pressurized water inside the pipe to loosen and flush away buildup. If the problem points to damage rather than buildup, we discuss the next steps.
Drain Cleaning
Cabling can open a blocked drain with a flexible cable and cutting head. Hydro-jetting uses water to clean buildup from inside the line. We help determine which approach fits the problem.
Descaling
Hardened deposits may call for descaling rather than jetting alone. The type of buildup and the condition of the pipe help determine which service is appropriate.

Common Questions
What does hydro-jetting remove?
Hydro-jetting can remove grease, oil, dirt and organic debris from suitable drain lines. It may also clear small root fibers. Results depend on the obstruction and pipe condition. It does not repair damaged pipes or prevent roots from growing back through an existing opening.
How much does hydro-jetting cost?
Pricing depends on access, the size and condition of the line and the type of buildup. Inspection or additional work can also affect the scope. Contact us to discuss the symptoms and ask about pricing before service begins.
Is hydro-jetting safe for every pipe?
No. The pipe material and condition matter. A damaged or severely deteriorated line may not be suitable for high-pressure cleaning. We assess the problem and may recommend a camera inspection or a different approach before jetting.
Does hydro-jetting fix a broken sewer line?
No. Hydro-jetting cleans the inside of a pipe. It cannot fix cracks, a collapsed section or separated joints. If damage is causing the backup, cleaning alone will not resolve the underlying problem.
How is hydro-jetting different from snaking?
Snaking, also called cabling, uses a flexible cable and cutting head to open a blockage. Hydro-jetting uses pressurized water to clean buildup along the inside of the line. Either method may be appropriate depending on the obstruction and pipe condition.
Can I request emergency hydro-jetting?
Call (515) 471-3333 if a drain is actively backing up. We offer 24/7 emergency service and can discuss availability. Hydro-jetting may be an option, but the cleaning method depends on the cause of the backup and the condition of the line.
